The strong work ethic, resolve and passion for education that Alexis Tibbetts displayed during her tenure as principal of Fort Walton Beach High School (named as one of the nation’s top 1,000 high schools by Newsweek magazine) is what she’s planning to bring to the entire district as the newly elected superintendent of the Okaloosa County School District.
“I am very proud of the past success within this system and prepared for the future achievements,” she said. Being involved in many civic, community, charitable and professional organizations, along with developing many beneficial projects, has allowed Tibbetts to prepare a sound foundation for this new role. “I think each project I have undertaken or worked on has allowed me to bring strength to this district and set a higher standard for the curriculum and instruction,” she said.
Tibbetts’ plans for the district include training teachers and administrators to prepare for the new grading formula recently implemented by the state. Tibbetts said she recognizes the many new challenges the district will face and feels confident she will excel in overcoming obstacles.
