One to Watch: Colleen Duffley
Colleen Duffley loves a challenge, which is how 25 years of world travel capturing images of people and exotic locations helped her create the concept of Studio b.
Through her lens, Duffley has captured celebrity chefs and foodies including Emeril Lagasse and designers and stylists such as Louise Kennedy and Jonathan Adler. Studio b has a lengthy portfolio of crème de la crème artistic clients featured on what it calls the “b List.”
Her work has also been featured on the covers of several magazines, including Better Homes and Gardens and Coastal Living.
“I’m attracted to capturing light; it’s about being able to see things people do not normally see,” Duffley says.
Though originally from Pennsylvania, Duffley calls herself a “Texan at heart” after living in Dallas for 13 years. She fell in love with Florida’s Emerald Coast while shooting for several catalogs. After her 40th birthday, she decided to bring her business to the local area and set up shop right on Alys Beach.
Along with photography, Studio b is a full-service advertising agency, including logo and ad design, concept development, story-boarding and location scouting. Duffley also is taking a shot at commercial directing.
“I guess you could say I have creative ADD,” she says.
Her studio also hosts events for those looking to get in touch with their creative side. Want to learn how to be a foodie or dabble in digital photography? Colleen Duffley and her Studio b can draw out your inner artist. – Jessica Goff
