Get Along Little Doggie!
16th Annual Dog Daze Event Lassos a Western Theme Oct. 12
Lasso your family and four-legged friends and plan to head to Liza Jackson Park in Fort Walton Beach for a good time worth “barking” about.
This year’s Dog Daze “paw-ty” is set for Saturday, Oct. 12. Grab your hats and pull on those cowboy boots, because this year’s event will corral a Western-inspired theme.
Friendship Veterinary Hospital, in partnership with the City of Fort Walton Beach and the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce, will present a Western-themed version of Dog Daze on Oct. 12 at Liza Jackson Park, 334 Miracle Strip Parkway S.W.
The tail-wagging activities will begin at 9 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m.
The dog-centric day will feature a variety of canine (and family) activities, including:
- “Ask the Doctor” booth, with Friendship
- Wild, Wild West Pet Parade and Costume Contest.
- Dachshund races.
- Small dog stampede.
- Rabies and microchip clinic, presented by PAWS.
- Pet adoption services offered by various pet rescues.
- Vendors with dog-related items.
- Free treats.
“Your dog will have their day at the Fort Walton Beach Chamber’s annual festivities for canines and the families who love them,” says Eppi Azzaretto director of marketing and public relations for the Fort Walton Beach Chamber.
“This is — without a doubt — the biggest event on your dog’s social calendar, so don’t disappoint them!”
In the 16th installment of this lively event, the Chamber says it expects more than 1,000 dogs and their families to attend.
All well-behaved dogs above six months of age are invited to attend. Attendees are asked to leash their dog(s) with a strong, non-retractable leash.
Suggested donation is $3 per pet. There is no charge for accompanying (human) family members. Proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination is required (current tag or doctor’s certificate) and will be checked at the gate.
Registration forms can be completed in advance online at FWBChamber.org by clicking on the Dog Daze banner ad.
