SPOTLIGHT
Luxury for Sale: Turnberry Harbour Opens Preview Center By Kelly D. Krohn

Turnberry Harbour, a luxury condominium development planned for Destin, recently opened the doors to its 12,000-square-foot sales center.

The center, situated near the entrance of the future 80-acre residential development, offers a fully decorated, three-bedroom model home, allowing prospective buyers to experience the look and feel of the condominiums before the first phase of construction is completed.

Within the center’s lobby are two large-scale, three-dimensional models of the development, simulating Turnberry Harbour upon full build-out.

“With this state-of-the-art sales center, we can literally usher someone into that lifestyle and show them its possibilities,” says Jim Cohen, vice president of sales for Turnberry Ltd., the South Florida developer of Turnberry Harbour.

“While the sales center’s purpose is primarily to inform visitors, it also serves as an introduction to the Turnberry lifestyle,” he adds.

The center, which is flanked by multiple water fountains and lush landscaping, will be followed by the opening of a 19-story condominium tower featuring 136 residences, as well as two four-story maisonettes – multiple-level, townhome-style buildings – each containing six residences. Prices range from $900,000 to $2.5 million.

When completed, the development, which is situated next to the Regatta Bay Golf Course and overlooks Choctawhatchee Bay, will include multiple residential buildings, a 34,500-square-foot clubhouse, a spa, a fitness center, a tennis club and a variety of restaurants.

Turnberry Ltd., which has created condominium and condominium-hotel developments in South Florida, Washington, D.C., Houston, San Francisco and the Bahamas, is known for the development of Turnberry Place, a $650-million development that was the first luxury high-rise condominium community built overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.

The company first announced plans to launch a project on the Emerald Coast in mid-2007.

“Destin’s unique culture of laid-back luxury really appealed to us, and that’s what we’ve tried to capture in each facet of Turnberry Harbour – from the over-the-top penthouses in the condominium tower to the charming, private maisonette buildings,” Cohen says. “On the one hand, Destin is a vacation destination for visitors from all around the Southeast, and on the other, it remains a close-knit residential community. In much the same way, Turnberry Harbour represents world-class luxury that’s set apart from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.”
