The Outpost on Black Creek is Under New Ownership
First Annual Black Creek Music Festival Was Held Aug. 18–20

The Outpost is under new ownership and they are making some big changes.
After the Outpost originally closed in 2019, Chip Fife purchased the property in Dec. of 2020. He spent the next two years hard at work revamping the property and reopened the restaurant in November 2022. His goal is to create a fun, family atmosphere for locals and tourists alike to stay and enjoy in Freeport, FL.
Fife was inspired by the character and location of the property, along with its potential to be a great new hangout for Walton County families. The back deck has been updated to accommodate outdoor dining and new stages have been built for live music.
Plans for the property include a bait shop, kayak & paddle board rentals, and an RV park for travelers looking to get away for some rest and relaxation on the water. Several boat tie-ups are also available for customers visiting by boat.
The restaurant is also undergoing some exciting changes. The current menu includes fresh New York-style thin crust pizzas and subs baked fresh to order, as well as salads
and desserts. They will soon also offer a full service bar and an oyster bar.
The Outpost is open on Thurs.–Sun. Thursday night is Family Night with Buy One, Get One FREE pizzas, and beer and wine specials. Come out on Fri.–Sun. for live music and other community events.
The Black Creek Music Festival was held Aug. 18–20 benefiting Habitat for Humanity and Alaqua Animal Refuge. Additional details can be found at
