Bluegrass is coming to the white sands of Destin.

Bluegrass at the Beach, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, is a production of the  Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and will bring together veteran acts and rising stars in a family-friendly musical showcase appealing to all ages.

ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals and Real Estate is the presenting sponsor of the festival, which coincides with cool fall weather, scaled back crowds on the beach and the Foundation’s 20th anniversary.

ResortQuest is providing discounts on beach accommodations during the festival weekend, making the event all the more attractive. You can stay near all the action and be just steps away from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. ResortQuest offers the largest selection and variety of vacation rentals on the Emerald Coast, including condos on Okaloosa Island and beach homes where you can enjoy a pool to yourself.

Grammy-nominated and award-winning Blue Highway will headline the festival line-up of seven acts from near and far: The Hillbenders from Springfield, Missouri; Willie Sugarcapps from coastal Alabama; Run Boy Run from Phoenix, Arizona; Moore Brothers Band from Hickory, North Carolina; Dread Clampitt from Santa Rosa Beach and Dismal Creek from right at the Florida-Alabama line.

Special guests include rising star Danielle Yother from South Carolina, as well as Franko “Washboard” Jackson, John Lohr and the Emerald Coast Theatre Company

The festival kicks off at 10 a.m. on Sept. 12 with Danielle Yother at the Cultural Arts Village. Main stage bands start playing at 11 a.m.
