Decorating Trees for Charities

Many holiday traditions hold a special place in our hearts, and one of the most anticipated is decorating the Christmas tree. Grand Boulevard celebrates this tradition with its Festival of Trees event, which showcases trees decorated by local non-profit organizations.

From Nov. 25 until Dec. 25, 12 creatively decorated trees will be on display at Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach. The participating organizations are: Building Homes for Heroes, Emerald Coast Relay for Life, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Children in Crisis, Junior League of the Emerald Coast, Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, Alaqua Animal Refuge, The ARC of Walton County, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, Heart Animal Rescue and Horizons.

The kick-off event will be held on Nov. 25, beginning at 6p.m. A Best of Show and a People’s Choice award will be presented, with attendees basing their votes on the creativity and uniqueness of each tree’s design. Each charity is competing for a $5,000 cash prize.

If you can’t make it to the kick-off event on Nov. 25, the trees will be on display through Christmas Day. The Festival of Trees is free and open to the public.
