Broadway Star Laura Benati Headlines Sinfonia Gulf Coast Cabaret At Seagar’s One-Night-Benefit Concert

Tony Award-winning Broadway, film, and TV star Laura Benanti will headline Sinfonia Gulf Coast’s Cabaret at Seagar’s on Wednesday, Sept. 27. This sensational soprano will captivate all gathered at the Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood in Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach.

This one-night-only benefit evening of entertainment begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by a four-course dinner curated by executive chef Fleetwood Covington and a live performance starring Laura Benanti.

“Sinfonia’s Cabaret at Seagar’s is back by popular demand. It makes for an incredible evening, and we are honored to present one of Broadway’s brightest in Laura Benanti,” says Sinfonia Music & Artistic Director Demetrius Fuller.

Hailed by The New York Times for her “effortless” vocals, and by the New York Post for her ability to “whip up laughs out of thin air,” Benanti first took Broadway by storm at the age of 18 as Maria in The Sound of Music. (You may recognize her for her role of Baroness Elsa in the live 2013 televised version with Carrie Underwood on NBC.) Subsequently, she starred in 10 more Broadway shows (musicals, straight plays, comedies, and dramas) including Into the Woods, Nine (opposite Antonio Banderas), Gypsy (for which she won a Tony Award), She Loves Me, My Fair Lady, and Steve Martin’s Meteor Shower opposite Amy Schumer and Keegan Michael Key.

Also a book author and creator of the HBO Max special Homeschool Musical: Class of 2020 based on her viral social media movement: #sunshinesongs, Benanti released a self-titled audio album for Sony Music Masterworks and tours the world performing solo concerts alongside highly celebrated musicians and orchestras.

Ticket prices for Cabaret at Seagar’s: An Evening with Laura Benanti are $295 per person and include valet, a four-course dinner, wine, gratuity, and live performance.

Sinfonia Gulf Coast Presents Family-Friendly Concert Performances in Seaside

As part of its music education community outreach program, Sinfonia Gulf Coast is delighted to invite families and friends to four free al fresco summer concerts performed live in Seaside’s amphitheater this August. 

“Music education outreach is the heart of our mission,” we are delighted to continue our creative partnership with the Town of Seaside by presenting two terrific music offerings,” said Sinfonia Gulf Coast Artistic & Music Director Demetrius Fuller. “We hope everyone comes out to join us for a beautiful evening of music in one of our most iconic beach towns.”

Peter and the Wolf Op. 67 will be performed by the Fountain Five Wind Quintet on August 16, 23, 30 at 6 p.m. in the Seaside Amphitheatre. 

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf Op. 67, a beloved symphonic fairy tale for children. The timeless classic will come to life through the artistic narration of seasoned actor Bruce Collier. In this special adaptation for woodwind quintet, the award-winning Fountain Five Wind Quintet — Sinfonia’s Woodwind Quintet in Residence — will mesmerize audiences with their expert musicality.

Fountain Five Wind Quintet, comprising Brenna Wiinanen (flute), Nicholas Kanipe (oboe), Connor Croasmun (clarinet), Josie Whiteis (bassoon), and Tarre Nelson (horn), brings a rich blend of traditional and contemporary repertoire to their performances. Their unique rendition of Peter and the Wolf will feature different instruments representing each character in the story, creating an unforgettable musical journey.

The Fountain Five Wind Quintet is dedicated to promoting new music, collaborating with emerging composers, and fostering chamber music accessibility. They have been recognized for their outstanding performances and were awarded first place in the ensemble division of the Music International Grand Prix Competition in April 2023.

Invoke will perform one concert on August 20 at 6 p.m. in the Seaside Amphitheatre.

Prepare to be enthralled by the award-winning multi-instrumental quartet, Invoke, on August 20. This dynamic ensemble defies traditional genre classification, blending American traditions like bluegrass, Appalachian fiddle tunes, jazz, and minimalism into a unique contemporary repertoire.

Invoke’s passion for storytelling shines through their original compositions, creating engaging and immediate connections with audiences. Their accolades include first prizes in prestigious competitions, such as the Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, the M- Prize International Chamber Arts competition, and the Coltman Competition.

As part of Sinfonia’s music education community outreach program, Invoke will also perform in various Walton County schools, inspiring the next generation of music lovers.
