Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort Launches New Wine Program in celebration of its 50th anniversary
The Resort has curated varietals that speak to the Sandestin lifestyle

MIRAMAR BEACH, FL – Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, a 2,400-acre resort destination located on Florida’s Emerald Coast, has launched a new wine program in celebration of its 50th year as the most-visited destination in Northwest Florida for vacationers, groups, business travelers, families and adventurers.
“Our new wine program is yet another way of showing guests and locals that we are continuously investing in the brand by matching the elevated Sandestin name with an equally sophisticated beverage component,” said Vasil Penchev, Sandestin’s director of food and beverage. “I think it’s the perfect momentum to officially push Sandestin into its 50th year.”
Sandestin curated four different wine varietals that speak to the Sandestin lifestyle: cabernet sauvignon, merlot, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. Each wine is crafted to reflect true varietal character with a flavor profile perfect for everyday enjoyment.

The Sandestin California Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby color with fruit and spice characteristics; aromas of blackberry, black cherry and caramel; and juicy flavors of plum, blackberry and caramel. It is a well-balanced varietal with good acidity, soft tannins and a long, smooth finish. Enjoy a glass with grilled meats, spaghetti and meatballs, Sicilian pizza or a chocolate torte.
The Sandestin California Merlot is also a ruby-colored wine with ripe strawberry, cranberry, vanilla and dark chocolate aromas and luscious flavors of Bing cherry, blueberry, cranberry and gingerbread. The mouthfeel is elegant, with refined, silky tannins and a smooth finish. This wine is ideal for lighter meat entrées, pasta with tomato sauce or lasagna.
The Sandestin California Chardonnay is bright gold with aromas of fresh citrus peel, apple, vanilla and cinnamon and delicious flavors of ripe pear, Meyer lemon and creamy butterscotch. The texture is rich and round, with a crisp finish, and pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, white pizza, three-cheese mac and cheese, or Caesar salad.
Finally, the Sandestin North Coast Sauvignon Blanc features aromas of grapefruit, lime zest and lemongrass alongside flavors of pink grapefruit, green apple and lime. The wine perfectly accompanies seafood dishes or light salads with fruits and soft cheeses.
Penchev said they selected the initial varietals based on pleasing a broader audience. He hopes to expand the selection to cater to more niche connoisseurs.

Earlier this year, Sandestin also partnered with craft brewery Tin Roof Brewing Co. to bring to life five signature craft beers that catered to the market: Sandestin Blonde Ale, Sandestin Pale Ale, Sandestin Sunset Sour Ale, Sandestin Sunny Day Lager, and Hooked on Sandestin Sunshine Indian Pale Ale. To date, the resort has already sold more than 35,000 Sandestin-branded beers. Looking ahead, they are also working on a signature hard seltzer to launch at the resort.
When Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort opened in 1973, it started with just one golf course, a handful of residential neighborhoods and a bayside hotel. Today, the expansive all-inclusive resort features more than 70 neighborhoods with houses, condos, villas and hotels; four celebrated champion courses; and a vast selection of shopping, dining, entertainment and adventure alongside some of the country’s most beautiful beaches.
