O-Ku Alys Beach will offer authentic, innovative cuisine to 30A community

O-Ku Alys Beach is coming to the 30A area along Florida’s Emerald Coast. The modern Japanese concept by the Indigo Road Hospitality Group was established in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2013 and has since grown across the South and East Coast.

The managing partners at O-Ku, Kimball Brienza and Steve Palmer, were celebrated this year by the James Beard Foundation as semifinalists for Outstanding Restaurateur, and they are excited to introduce the authentic, innovative cuisine to the 30A community.

Born and raised in Japan, O-Ku’s culinary director, Masa Hamaya, who leads the culinary program, strongly emphasizes tradition with his authentic approach to Japanese cuisine, showcasing the freshest possible ingredients and attention to seasonality.

Open for dinner nightly, O-Ku celebrates unique ingredients, traditional techniques and sophisticated presentations through an approachable menu.

Offerings include traditional sushi, sashimi and nigiri, alongside savory dishes such as Japanese wings, robata-grilled king crab, miso-marinated salmon, Wagyu steaks and fresh seafood options sourced from the finest markets in Tokyo and nearby waterways.

Complete with cocktail favorites, including The Shogun and Sugar + Spice, the beverage program offers a unique mix of specialty libations, imported sakes, fine wines and local beer selections.

Overlooking the luscious green event lawn in the heart of Alys Beach’s idyllic Town Center, O-Ku Alys Beach is a culinary respite for locals and vacationers alike.

The bright and airy interiors, with light-colored woods and coastal, earthy tones, provide a tranquil and upscale dining environment.

With 160 seats in total, including a sleek L-shaped bar alongside a spacious patio, guests can soak in the picturesque sights of Alys Beach’s coastal architecture and courtyard living every evening.
