Journey with Jewelry Designer Erica Courtney
McCaskill & Company presents Drop Dead Gorgeous trunk show

Vibrant gemstones, intricate designs and jewelry so lux it appears it’s been dipped in the gleam of glitter. These are some of the characteristics of Erica Courtney’s latest jewelry line, Drop Dead Gorgeous, that will be available at the trunk show at McCaskill & Company’s location on Nov. 9–11.
For over three decades, Erica Courtney has secured her name as a leader in style and luxury with her chic statement pieces. Her Drop Dead Gorgeous collection hones in on feminine charm and attraction through whimsical details, vivid tones and sophisticated design.
“In addition to a vast selection of the most beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry that you will ever see, guests have the opportunity to visit with Erica at the trunk shows,” said Elizabeth Campbell, owner of McCaskill & Company. “They delight in her tales of travels around the world in search of rare gemstones and being taught about some of the most exotic gems on the planet.”
Outside of the conceptualizing and design process, what Courtney enjoys most is traveling to exotic locales in search of rare and extraordinary stones. With each trip she enhances her knowledge of the trade and adds to her award-winning collection.
Monikered Indiana Jones in six-inch heels, Courtney’s travels have taken her around the world, scaling walls and tunneling deep into mines throughout Tanzania, Australia, Cambodia, Colombia, Kenya, Mozambique, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Vietnam. Many of her designs are inspired by her travels.
“Design inspiration is a kind of magic, where the gems speak to me and tell me whether they are supposed to be a ring or a pendant or whatever their purpose might be,” said Courtney.
Courtney has been named among the Top Three Jewelry Designers in the World by United Brands and is a longtime member of the exclusive Council of Fashion Designers of America. Her baubles have adorned celebrities including Jessica Alba, Sandra Bullock and Sofia Vergara.
“She always has so many new pieces that are truly works of art with each piece being so different from the next,” said Campbell. “You cannot help but be mesmerized by her cases of jewelry.”
The collection that will be on display at the trunk show emphasizes bold-hued baubles, gold chains with intricate clasps and the detailed ring galleries that Courtney is famous for.
Jewelry lovers are encouraged to attend trunk shows to view the jewelry in person — trying it on, inspecting its shine, noting the size and noticing how certain jewels pair with skin tones. These are all aspects online shopping lacks, causing many attendees to walk away with investment pieces they’ll love wearing and passing on.
“I believe gems pick their wearer, and trunk shows allow that connection in being drawn to a gem to happen,” said Courtney. “Customers have long said that my pieces are like lucky charms and talismans. Since I specialize in exotic gemstones, my pieces are uniquely crafted with stones you may never see anywhere else.”
Besides Courtney’s expert opinion, McCaskill employees will also be on hand to answer questions and provide advice.
Over the years, Courtney has held many trunk shows at McCaskill. She always looks forward to being reunited with customers who’ve become friends and making connections with those who are new to her jewelry.
