Inspired by Seagrove’s serene surroundings, Allyson Runnels of Laura Allyson Interiors designed a relaxing retreat for a young Birmingham family. Runnels is passionate about interior design; it’s been her living for 10 years. A resident of Blue Mountain Beach, she draws on her experience as a coastal native when designing a beach home while remaining mindful of her clients’ unique tastes. The Alabama owners were drawn to the idyllic beachfront location and open layout of their new place. Runnels fashioned what she describes as “a casual coastal home with elegant elements.” Soothing hues, locally crafted pieces and intricate detailing beautifully coexist in the home that readily transitions from a beach retreat to a formal dining space.
