10 Year Anniversary

Emerald Coast Magazine
Celebrates a Milestone

Some events from the past 10 years come to mind easily: the devastation from Hurricane Ivan; the opening of several lifestyle shopping centers, restaurants and resorts; and, as much as we try to forget, the real estate bust that sent property values plummeting. We rummaged through our archives and looked at some of the most major, memorable (and even trivial) local and national newsworthy stories the past decade gave us. In honor of our 10th anniversary, we share our favorites with you here.

This year, Emerald Coast Magazine commemorates its 10th anniversary. During the past year, we’ve pored over a decade’s worth of back issues. As we explore the magazine’s history, it’s exciting to review the stories we’ve covered since we launched in spring of 2000, and to see how we have evolved from a small quarterly magazine into a bimonthly publication that keeps getting better with each issue.

In the magazine business, as in life, you’re either ripe and rotting or green and growing. We’re still green and growing as we strive to bring you the stories that shape the Emerald Coast and highlight the people who make this such a special place.
